Brewers from the giants such as Anheuser-Busch to micro-operations have been fooling around with gluten-free beers. Now, a true Belgian beer has joined the chase for consumer acceptance.
Three different gluten-free Green's Belgian Ales, imported from Belgium by Merchant du Vin of Washington state, have been making their way onto store shelves over the past several months.
They are made at the DeProef Brewery in Lochristi, Belgium, using millet, rice, buckwheat and sorghum. They are bottle-conditioned with an authentic Belgian yeast strain, and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The styles are Green's Discovery Amber Ale, Green's Endeavour Dubbel Ale and Green's Quest Tripel.The options are Green's Discovery Amber Ale, Green's Endeavour Dubbel Ale and Green's Quest Tripel.
